Belated 4th of July

This past week went fast – and most of it was quite busy too.

Last Saturday, after talking lightly about getting one for years, Ari and I decided to purchase a Sundace hot tub.  Aqua Quip was doing a trial run at Costco and we bit…right deal at the right time.  I think Ari and I have agreed that we should build a deck to go along with the tub, so now we just have to design it…I think I’m going to talk to my neighbor who used to do architecture (I think she may still consult too).  Later that day, we went to Ari’s boss’s house for a bbq.  Ari commented about his hot tub and the first words out of L’s mouth was “wish I’d spent the additional money to get a Sundance.”  So that was encouraging.  He also confirmed what the rep had said…nobody uses the blower, so if you’re questioning it, don’t get it.

Sunday, I had an 11:30 softball game.  Ari dropped me off, then went back to Costco to upgrade our membership and make the big purchase – this purchase alone went beyond breaking even on the membership upgrade.  After the game, I called Ari and he was on his way back.  Rather than sitting next to the field in the hot sun, I decided to walk to the nearby grocery store.  I was amused when 2 teammates slowed down, rolled down their windows and asked if I needed a ride…one right after the other.  Ari got to the store only a couple minutes before me and after a quick lunch, we met Deb and Jacob at the Greenlake wading pool.  We should have the pictures up soon.

The rest of the week started off quite nice with an extended weekend…my office gave me monday and tuesday off.  I had planned to actually try to get a little work done on Monday, but Simeon wasn’t feeling well and Ari didn’t have the day off.  We did manage to get some cleaning done and felt ready for people Tuesday evening.

On the 4th, we held a barbeque – these pictures will get up when the Greenlake pictures do.  Early on, it looked like it would be a small cozy group.  By monday the count had doubled from 7 to 15. It was great seeing G & S after so long.  Their little boy is so cute :).  He was actually quite helpful in pointing out what will need to be childproof very soon.  Not long after the last person showed, a group of us decided to go for a walk.  On the way back, I ran into some neighbors and found out that their 3-week old son has the same problem that Simeon had and will have the same surgeon.   Hopefully, we’ll have them over to the house soon.

The rest of the week flew by.  Unfortunately, my work week was shortened even more when I woke up with a migraine yesterday.  Aside from an hour or two, in which I barely moved, I slept until about 3:30 in the afternoon.  Finally ate around 4 – 4:30 and was finally feeling myself around 6:30.

Wow…I had a lot more to say than I thought.

Tegan Time and Simeon Stuff
Tegan had better beware…Simeon is on the move.  He’s not quite crawling, but he will be any day.  He has gotten the army crawl down pat.  Apparently, yesterday morning, he was on the floor when Tegan walked by and practically crossed the room to get to her.  She’s okay getting close enough to watch him, but as soon as he starts moving, so she does she.

The poor boy hasn’t been feeling well this past week.  We went to the doctor last weekend – his weight is still not gaining as quicky as we’d like, but his rate of height growth is looking better.
