Piya's Perspective

Tegan is 14 years old, long-haired and white.  If she had it her way, she’d find a piece of nice, dark clothing somewhere, curl up and sleep all day with periodic breaks for meals in bed.  Unfortunately, Ari and I brought home her personal trainer 13 months ago.

Simeon and Tegan have spent the last year getting to know each other.  They have gotten so close that Tegan will oversee Simeon’s playtime and bathtime to make sure all is up to standard, and will even act as bodyguard when deemed necessary.  Likewise, Simeon inspects Tegan’s food and toys to make sure everything is safe.

Now that a year has gone by, however, Simeon has determined it is time to get down to business.  Anytime he isn’t eating, inspecting rug fringe, reading a book or taking a play-break, Simeon is helping Tegan get in her aerobic exercise.  Through the kitchen, around the great room or up the stairs – if Tegan isn’t moving, Simeon makes sure she does.  On a few occasions, when Tegan thinks she has time to take a break, Simeon rushes over and reaches out.  Tegan then understands her break is over and starts walking again.

The two continue to watch out for each other, but Simeon intends to keep Tegan an active cat.  Goodness help her when he’s up on two feet and learns to dive attack.
